John has been our Executive Director since early 2022 but with us since 2018. Prior to joining HDF, John served as a social studies teacher and college advisor at JC Harmon and Guadalupe Centers High School for ten years. During his time at Guadalupe Centers High School (GCHS), he was instrumental in supporting not only students with their educational aspirations, but their families as well. While at GCHS, John co-founded The Pell Project, an organization that awards scholarships to undocumented students equivalent to the US Pell Grant. When he isn’t helping us elevate the Kansas City Latino community, you can find him out hiking/fishing with his wife, Beth, and their three children: Ben, Luke, and baby Kate.
