Meet Alejandra Pérez
Alejandra currently serves as HDF’s Director of Scholarship Program. Her career in higher education has been centered in academic advising and retention services at two- and four-year institutions. Having navigated the higher education system as a first-generation, undocumented student, with ADA accommodations, she has a deep understanding of the barriers our community faces pursuing their academic goals and more importantly, how to overcome these challenges.
Alex earned her associate's degree at State Fair Community College, then transferred to University of Missouri to complete her bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and later earned a master's degree in Educational Administration at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
Alex also serves as an advisor to HDF's Scholar Advisory Board, where she advocates for scholars' ideas and visions for HDF. She values getting to share these ideas with stakeholders who wish to support the scholarship program whether through a grant or the Named Scholarship Program.
